In this edition of our Escape Lounges Spotlight series, we take you to Syracuse

Our Escape Lounge at Syracuse Hancock International Airport combines all of the complimentary facilities you’d expect in one of our lounges, with an interior inspired by its surroundings. The lounge was recently awarded ‘Lounge of the Year Regional Highly Commended’ in the Priority Pass Excellence Awards 2024, recognising the unique combination of premium complimentary facilities, a regional food and drink menu, and excellent customer service.

Our inspiration

Each of our Escape Lounges is designed to reflect its local area, and Syracuse is no different. It blends unique style and local culture in a relaxing space where guests can rest before their flight. There are cosy corners to relax in, desks where you can catch up on work, and seating areas and tables where you can enjoy a meal and a cocktail before flying.

Our Syracuse lounge was heavily inspired by the natural setting of the Finger Lakes region and also reflects the rich culture and architecture that make Syracuse unique. Key features include log detailing at the reception desk, with a tree feature to help bring the outdoors in; and an electric fire designed to look like a log fire, keeping guests warm in the winter months while evoking a sense of upstate New York. These design features are complemented by a color palette of neutral, earthy tones.

Bringing the outdoors in

We designed our Escape Lounge at Syracuse to feature unique artwork to reflect the local Adirondack Mountains, using textural tree rings and deciduous tree species such as pine and spruce in the wallpaper to represent the forestry within the mountain range. The Adirondak Mountains are represented throughout the lounge, highlighting how important the trees and wildlife are in Syracuse. This is also reflected in our brand stamp for Syracuse, representing a cross section of a tree.

The Finger Lakes region provides the perfect backdrop to our Escape Lounge at Syracuse, with inspiration coming from areas such as the Green Lakes State Park and Downtown Syracuse. The blend of straight lines from the city and natural greenery from the parks and mountain range can be seen throughout the lounge, giving you one last taste of Syracuse before you leave.
